SOLUTIONS / ROOTS

Narrowbits ROOTS · Agricultural monitoring

Your fields have a lot to tell you.

Soil, weather, and irrigation by sector in a single view, with the option to supervise valves and pumps from the same system.

The problem

Irrigating out of habit is expensive.

Calendar-based irrigation

Irrigation follows habit, not what each sector's soil actually needs.

Events found out too late

Frost, rain, or pumping failures are discovered after they've happened.

Spread-out farm

Sectors, sheds, and pumps without continuous supervision.

How it works

Irrigation with on-site autonomy.

Technology

Our own sensors, designed for the field.

NBprobe, our soil probe, NBClimate for on-farm weather, and NBnano as the irrigation head controller, with pumps wired over Modbus RTU.

Case · Agribusiness

Cherry grower · Maule Region

Project developed for our partner Agro Sensor, a leader in agroclimatic monitoring in the region. Soil moisture probes in the root zone, nodes in the orchard, and a weather station to calculate evapotranspiration. Irrigation is decided by sector using the orchard's actual water balance.

How we start

Let's start with one block.

1

On-site assessment

We walk the farm and define measurement points and coverage.

2

One-season pilot

One block or sector with probes, a weather station, and a dashboard.

3

Scale-up

Extension to the whole farm and, where applicable, irrigation control.

Services

After installation, we stay with you.

CAREYour system, looked after.

Supervision, review of points with no data, incident handling and technical support.

LOGEvery record, whenever you need it.

Historical data, events and reports for reviews and audits.

NOWWhat you need to know to decide today.

Periodic summary of relevant changes, alerts and open items.

Frequently asked questions

What customers usually ask.

Does it work without cell coverage in the field?

LoRaWAN covers kilometers with a single gateway, and NBnano stores the data if the external link drops.

Can I integrate my valves and pumps?

Yes. Valves are controlled by radio with time and volume limits; pumps are always wired.

What happens if radio contact is lost while a valve is open?

Every command includes its maximum time and volume: the valve closes on its own once the limit is reached.

Does it work for any crop?

Yes. Thresholds and indices are configured per crop and per block.
